The perfect weekend...09.25.10

Hi girls!  Hope everyone is good and having a wonderful weekend!

Last night my BFF and I had our usual joint hair appointments enjoying a bottle of wine and just hanging out having a great time while getting pampered.

Then we headed over to my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner.  We ordered and shared the chicken fajitas and quesadillas and it was all so good!

Next, it was on to the mall, so she could purchase her first ever MAC makeup!!  She has a big work event coming up and was looking for a smokey eye look with some gold.  The MUA used Indianwood paintpot, Woodwinked all over the lid, Twinks in the crease and Down Brown in the outer V.  It was beautiful!  She lined her eyes and used the new (and AMAZING) Studio Fix Lash mascara.  If you haven't tried this mascara, GO BUY IT!!! I love it!  First time buying a MAC mascara.  I have had Plush Lash on my wish list forever because it's a favorite of TiffanyD (http://makeupbytiffanyd.blogspot.com/) and her lashes always look amazing.  But when I saw what that mascara did for my friends lashes I had to get it!  We also signed up for some Style Session so I will let you all know how that goes!  It's next month.

Today I went to see Eat, Pray, Love with my mama.  I had not read the book and had only seen the previews for the movie and thought...YAWN.
But my mama really wanted to go so we did and it was... okay.
Wasn't great, wasn't horrible.  A little "deep" for a Saturday afternoon but whatever!  The scenes in the movie were beautiful and I was very intrigued of the idea of leaving your life behind for a year to travel but seems a little unrealistic for most folks.  Or maybe it's just me.  Maybe I am not adventurous enough to ever do something like that.  I worry too much.

Anyways, after the movie we went to Starbucks for Lattes and while waiting in the ever long line to order I was eyeing the Reduced Fat Cinnamon Cake.  I think I may have been drooling.  Have you had it?  It was heaven.  I originally bought one piece so we could be "good" and share it so not to consume too many calories but one bite and I went and got my mom her own!! I was NOT sharing that cake.

Hubby is glued to the TV tonight watching college football and I made some burgers ( 1 pound lean beef, 1 cup shredded cheese, 1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch packet-makes the most delicious burgers) and had some good ole' chips and dip!  So bad for you but so good.

Tomorrow Mr. Labelsnob and I will head to a mall out of town where F21 is so I can make a return and I'm sure do some shopping!  I will be posting some recent purchases (from prior shopping trips) on my next post!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Eat, Pray, Love :)
XOXO

A new love 6.20.10

I have a new love...
No, I didn't kick my hubby to the curb!!!
I am in love with a new mascara. Now granted this mascara has been on the market but I had never tried it. I have been using all the various Cover Girl mascaras lately. Lashblast, Lash Exact (which I do really like) and Lash Blast Length. All them very nice in their own ways but something was just...I don't know...missing.
Then I figured it was time to try something new.
I bought Maybelline's Full and Soft.

Now I have not purchased any Maybelline mascaras before except the good ole Great Lash-which is a classic but honestly doesn't really excite me. Every time I reach for that Great Lash it just reminds me of my super awkward Junior High days when all I wore in the way of makeup was my Great Lash and some Wet and Wild lipgloss. And frankly I don't want to be reminded of those days! So the Great Lash stays buried in my makeup collection (but is always there).

But this mascara, oh my! I love love love the Full and Soft. No joke, I was so excited about what it did for my lashes I went back to the store the same day and bought another one (so I'd have a black and a brownish black) and I bought one for my mom! It provided length and volume without clumping and it stays put all day!

If you haven't checked this mascara out, go buy it and give it a try!
What is your current favorite mascara?

How about any products (like the Great Lash for me) that remind you of when you first starting wearing makeup and it was all still so awkward cause you were still learning? Tell me your story!
