A new love 6.20.10

I have a new love...
No, I didn't kick my hubby to the curb!!!
I am in love with a new mascara. Now granted this mascara has been on the market but I had never tried it. I have been using all the various Cover Girl mascaras lately. Lashblast, Lash Exact (which I do really like) and Lash Blast Length. All them very nice in their own ways but something was just...I don't know...missing.
Then I figured it was time to try something new.
I bought Maybelline's Full and Soft.

Now I have not purchased any Maybelline mascaras before except the good ole Great Lash-which is a classic but honestly doesn't really excite me. Every time I reach for that Great Lash it just reminds me of my super awkward Junior High days when all I wore in the way of makeup was my Great Lash and some Wet and Wild lipgloss. And frankly I don't want to be reminded of those days! So the Great Lash stays buried in my makeup collection (but is always there).

But this mascara, oh my! I love love love the Full and Soft. No joke, I was so excited about what it did for my lashes I went back to the store the same day and bought another one (so I'd have a black and a brownish black) and I bought one for my mom! It provided length and volume without clumping and it stays put all day!

If you haven't checked this mascara out, go buy it and give it a try!
What is your current favorite mascara?

How about any products (like the Great Lash for me) that remind you of when you first starting wearing makeup and it was all still so awkward cause you were still learning? Tell me your story!

Back from Holiday. 6.13.10

Hi girls!! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mr. LabelSnob and I just returned from Key West, FL. and we had a fabulous time! It was so beautiful there and we were able to get some chill time in! When we arrived, I couldn't believe how HOT it was. I don't live far from the Keys but it just seemed so much hotter there! I quickly grabbed a drink and we started strolling down Duval Street where most of the main shops and bars are.
We quickly noticed that just about everyone there is extremely laid back! There's live music in all the bars and you can stroll down the street drink in hand! A lot of people were buzzing around on scooters or bikes which we considered renting one ourselves but never had the time. It looked like so much fun though! We hit Mallory Square for the "famous Sunset Celebration" that happens every night. The large square located on the water is full of street performers, artists, musicians and vendors entertaining and selling their trinkets as the sun starts to set everyone celebrates and claps and it's really quite an ordeal! I was glad we took part in it as it was a very memorable experience.
The next day we played tourist and went on one of those silly Old Town Trolley tours around the town. We actually had a great time and learned a lot about the history of the Keys. We did some shopping (Mr. LabelSnob bought me an amazing bag from Coach-thanks lovey!) and we ate lunch at Hard Rock Cafe (the nachos were so YUM) and back to the hotel for a nap!!!
That night we headed back to Duval Street to see the sunset at the roof top of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. It wasn't as crazy as Malloy Square. It was actually very quaint and romantic. There was a band and the lead singer was singing "At Last" as the sun set and it was just beautiful. As you can see from the below picture even Mr. LabelSnob was impressed!

To end the night we headed back to the street to have some dinner and bar hop (which is what most people seem to come to Key West for). We had such an amazing time people watching, strolling along the street, browsing in shops and hitting a couple bars. We even went to a "must go" place called Garden of Eden which is a rooftop bar where clothing is optional. NO I did NOT take any part of my clothing off (nor did my hubby) but there were a couple people there completely naked!! I have never been to a place like that. It's funny, there really isn't anything sexual about it. It's really just about freedom and being comfortable in your own skin. I really admired the ones that were about to bare all and didn't care who looked! Still we were a little uncomfortable! We had a couple drinks, danced a little and called it a night!

All in all we had a great trip and will go back for sure! Have you gone on any holidays this summer? Or do you have any planned? Tell me about them!

Going on a short holiday!

Hello girls! Today's blog is just rambling about going on holiday! I am so excited. In a couple days I will be relaxing on the beach/poolside down in the Florida Keys for the first time ever! I have always wanted to go so I am really excited. So I figured I would post about my must take items and you can let me know if I am forgetting anything! First thing:

I love my Nikon "big fancy" SLR camera, but I am bad about not taking it anywhere with me cause it's so darn big and heavy! But I think it's a must to take it since I think there will be so many beautiful things to capture there.

My absolute favorite sunscreen. If you haven't checked out Paula's Choice products you must take a look at her website: http://beautypedia.com/

Paula's knowledge is amazing and has saved me SO much money. Before I buy any product I check her website for a review. She knows whether a product has the proper ingredients in it to do what it claims to do.

A super cute hat is a must! Nothing says I'm on holiday at the beach like a big sun hat!!

The strapless maxi dress! Soooo comfortable and perfect for holiday! I have a couple of these. Great to throw on to walk along the beach or through the little shops in town.

I will be taking only a little bit of makeup as I will be pretty laid back while I am there. Just going to focus on relaxing with my wonderful hubby and having fun!

Do you have any holidays planned?

Makeup Ban is over! First Haul post 6.6.10

Hello ladies! Hope everyone is having (or had) a wonderful weekend! I was lucky enough to spend the day Saturday shopping and picked up some great stuff! I'll show you what I got!
Here is a picture of the entire haul!

I have really been on a blush kick lately. Looking to expand my NARS blush collection and I also picked up a couple MAC blushes as well. I picked up:

NARS Penny Lane Cream blush. It is described as a soft peach. This is my first high end cream blush so I am very excited to try it.

I also picked up NARS Torrid blush which on the Sephora website is described as a coral with shimmer which is exactly what I was looking for and it is beautiful! I cannot wait to wear this.

From MAC I picked up Well Dressed (a YouTube cult favorite) and a repurchase of the very first MAC item I ever bought which is Buff blush. It is such a beautiful neutral color that everyone should own, seriously! If you don't have it- you must get it!! :)

I also picked up some MAC brush cleanser and the MAC 168 Contour brush. I wanted an angled brush for applying my blush or for contouring and that is exactly what this brush does!

And last but not least I picked up 4 pan eyeshadows to finish my palette! I picked up Soft Brown, Espresso, Cranberry and Paradisco. They are all such beautiful must have colors.

My next post will be showing you my completed MAC palette. It took me a few months to fill as I bought only 1 or 2 at a time usually. So I'm happy it's complete and already ready to start another one! Is that bad???

Bye for now!!!

So happy today!!! 6.3.10

So I have been in such a funk lately! I was on a (self imposed) makeup ban for the month of May. So no new makeup for me all last month...But luckily it's JUNE!!! That's the good news! The bad news is I'm broke! Since buying no makeup in May you'd think I was able to save a little, but no! I had holidays and birthdays this month and I ate a lot of meals out! Not good for the wallet or the waistline! So boo hoo.
I was whining to the hubby about this the other evening and then this morning when leaving for work my hubby left me a note with some cash! Whoa! The note said "MAC money! Love U" . All together "aaawwww how sweet!" I love him so much! Thanks babe, heading to MAC this weekend!
Now here's the part I need help with! What should I buy? Any suggestions?
After I go I will post my first haul! :)
