Makeup ban May 2010

I am so depressed. How can I impose a makeup ban on myself the same month I start a blog??? HOW BORING!!! I have been completely uninspired to post much of anything! Since I don't have any new fun purchases to try out and talk about there hasn't been much to say! Maybe I'll jump on the OOTD band wagen! I am itching to check out the new MAC collection but I don't dare even go on the website! I have only a few more days (5 days to go). What exciting thing should I buy once my "BAN" has lifted? Any suggestions?

Highlights at home?? 5.16.10

So while reading a magazine during my lunch hour on Friday I got inspired to try highlighting my hair at home this weekend! It's been ages since my hair has been highlighted. The last time was several summers ago when I was trying to achieve Jennifer Anniston hair!

So anyhoo, I was in my grocery store with the hubby on Saturday and basically just grabbed the first box I saw and put it in the cart before I lost my nerve! It is a kit by Revlon called "frost and go". The box claims to "Bring out your bright and beautiful best with natural-looking highlights".

I thought it was going to be one of those "brush on" highlight kits but since I grabbed the box so quickly without even hardly looking I didn't realize it came with one of those silly cap things you pull your hair through and then apply the color! I didn't pull too much hair though because since it was the first time I have done this I wanted to be conservative with it! I could always add more another time, right?

Well I am pretty pleased with the outcome (pictures coming soon). It is subtle for the most part. Jennifer Anniston looking? No! But that's ok!

Rompers!!

I wore this romper out last weekend and love it! It's from Express and it the most comfortable piece! I was spending the day outside in the blazing heat so I wanted to wear something super comfy and lightweight. This fit the bill perfectly. I am loving the romper trend, are you? I tried on a couple different ones at Arden B and Express and went with this one. I may pick up 1 or 2 more. On AnythingFashion's YT channel, she showed several different ways to wear this trend, check out her video!

Shopping with the folks 5.8.10

Hello blog world. Today was a day for shopping! My Mom and Dad headed to the "big city" to hit up the malls for some shopping.

I was on the hunt for some great classic black pumps from Nine West and found a great pair in just my size (okay after going to 4 different location spaning a 50 mile radius!!). They'll be great for work and even date nights with the hubby and even out with the girls with a great pair of jeans!

I also picked up some great pieces from Express. I had Express Cash to use up (couldn't let it go to waste, right?). I got a great pair of white shorts, a couple tops and one of those super cute and super trendy rompers! I love it and will be wearing it tomorrow while hanging with mom for Mothers Day! Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there!

Since I'm on a makeup ban for the month of May (self imposed-just want to see if I can go a whole month and not buy any makeup) I didn't pick up any makeup, boo hoo :(

I will be strong!

Why am I here??

Wow! Did I really just start a blog? I'm sure no one will be crazy enough to want to read it, so I guess I'll just say what ever I want on this thing! I'm new to blogging (I'm sure you didn't know that!!) and I'm recently OBSESSED with You Tube video watching which is what brought me to look at blog sites (Thanks Lollipop26!).
Last year I went on YouTube to watch a video of the performance on American Idol of Cyndi Lauper (huge fan) and after I watched it since I had never checked out You Tube before I decided to look at the home page and I saw a link to a video by JuicyStar07 and have been hooked ever since!
